hi peeps does anyone know the best way to remove the badges on the boot of my civic without taking paint off with them..?

There we go mate :) (Note) This is for a ITR-DC2, however same process for a EK obviously ;)

The site wont let me post in the Resources area so this is the next best thing.

I couldnt find a specific post for this How To in the archives so i thought i'd create one.

Anyway, this post is for removing your old tired/faded front badge from you JDM Integra R.

We start by having the old faded badge.......

Now removing it is the tricky part, the badges have a pretty strong adhesive on the back making them a pain in the arse. Do not use a screw driver or anything similar.

I first read about using fishing line hooked behind the badge and gently easing it off, but the fishing line just snapped when i tried this.

Instead i used a long thin tye wrap, gently ease it behind the top half of the badge so you have an equal piece each side. I know the picture shows me using one hand but thats because the other was taking the photo lol.

Put a hand on each half of the tye and gently pull towards you easing it off, its gonna be a fighter but it will come......

Once you have the badge removed your going to be left with the adhesive of the badge, dont go and put you new badge over the top!

So your going to need to clean it off, i used a heavy duty cleaner, a cloth and a plastic card (like a credit card etc)

Read labels on cleaners to check you wont harm your paint.

Now you dont want to go crazy just take your time and it will come off, you dont want to damage your paint.....

All cleaned and ready for the new badge..........

Here is a picture of the new badge, you can see there is a adhesive patch on the back of the badge, remove the film.....

NOTE (JDM Part number on packaging)

Now attach the badge to the bonnet, line the locators on the back of the badge up with the holes on the bonnet and press on lightly making sure its straight, once happy give it a firm final press. Job done!
