Ek9
Hey guys and gals, looking to plan a late season trip to the ring.

It will be my first time there and I don't fancy taking my ek9 just yet, and for my first trip I'd like to go as a passenger.

So what I was going to propose was that I take my van along as a support vehicle, so people can put spare parts tools etc and it can act as a recovery wagon if needs be! I'll bring a load of tools myself too.

If you're interested post when you'd be up for going and we'll see if we can get a date set and start planning.
Would be good to go with some experienced ring goers.

Yep I'm game. My normal lot aren't likely to be going this year so I'm left to fly solo.
Realistically I'm looking at Sept/Oct if the weather is decent still

Cool man sounds good, I'll be able to go around then. I'll leave it up to a driver to set a date, but I should be OK to go whenever.

Excellent. Hopefully we got some more interest although I do doubt it.

We'll see, when would we need to book accommodation by?

I'm not sure tbh. My buddy usually does it lol

lol no worries i'll have a look. How many days do you usually go for?
looks like October will be limited as the track is closed half the month. The only Friday Saturday sunday in October is 28th-30th.
or the beginning of the month.
September has a lot more options.
depends when you'd rather go, mid week etc etc.
what do you usually do?

We usually do a Friday to Tuesday.
Out on the Friday morning and back on the Tuesday.
Obviously we are limited to when the track is actually open so like you say we would need a weekend.

Ok so only possible date in October then would be the 30th of September (a Friday) to the 4th of October which is a Tuesday, the track is closed on the Tuesday though.
But in September 9th -13th would be good as the track is open all the time between those dates, and that's over a weekend.

Accommodation is expensive in September, but can get it for around £250 - £350 if you stay about 10-12 miles away from the ring.

Hotel wihelmstoehe is where I usually stay. It's about 20km from the track but the owner is Scottish, lovely lady she is. I'll try and find the website as it's a fair bit cheaper than £250

Looked at my work calendar, 30th is of September to the 4th of October would be better for me.
The track is closed on the 4th but I geuss we'd be traveling back that day?
I'll have a look at that link :nice:

Yeah we usually reserve the last day for travelling back.
I'll see what work say about getting that time off.
Failing that then could always do a trackday there?

Yeh could do! Would be good to do a track day around the circuit.
See when you can do, I might be able to shift some days around.

I've always fancied a trackday, the traffic on tourist days can be pretty extreme.

Ok mate I'll look into trackdays too.

Trackdays are on Tuesday's and Wednesday's.

I think they are the track day dates,
You can do full track days which is the gp circuit and the nordschleife!
Mega expensive though!

Yeah I'd only be interested in the north loop anyway.
