My Grey ZN6 GT86

maybe all it needs is better gearing instead of more power...boxer has lower revs but better tq, hummm.

Just thought I'd share my Christmas lunch meet from today. Not quite as good a show as expected but all the same:

Well I got round to installing my new parts today - AVO Intake 76mm pipe (stock is 70mm) and K&N filter .

Also got my 1st oil change kit (Toyota oil, filter and washer) delivered yesterday so all ready to go to Litchfield next week.

For those that are interested, just, er.... stole these to show what I hope mine will be like.

This is Completely Stock vs AVO intake with panel filter (no other mods):

This is the same car with AVO intake/filter before and after a ECU remap:

I'd be happy with this as an end result :D

Had my trip to Litchfield the other week. Rocked up with c.1500 miles on the clock. This was the requirement:
- Oil & Filter Change
- Install Powerflex Positive Shifter Bushing
- Install Litchfield Eibach springs and have their fast road setup
- Have the ECUtek remap + purchase cable

I now have 3 maps that can be changed while driving: Map 1: Eco, Map 2: Performance, Map 3: Performance with launch control.

The car now feels great. The power delivery feels much better on the performance map, the torque dip is much less noticeable and it actually sounds more aggressive too. The economy map also returns better MPG too for those that worry about these things. That was proven on a very snowy return cross-country journey from Tewkesbury . The springs have made a subtle yet noticeable change with the 30mm-ish drop and the ride is actually just as comfortable as stock. The fast road set-up also feels nice to drive, the front end feels more pointed as a result. Not had a chance to feel it with the back end out.

My new purchase, useful for logging and map updates etc:

Here's the car all nice and clean and showing the new ride height.

These is what I now have in mind for my trackday wheels too:

Very nice car. Just noticed in the last pic from the meet the car on the end has oem impreza wheels. Much rather prefer the standard 86 wheels.

You're right, well spotted :nice: He has his winter tyres on those wheels as I think he got the alloys for £60. He still has his OEM wheels for when warmer weather returns.

Very nice man, fair play for buying one.

I think they're a great looking car and i like the way you've gone straight into buying bits for it, it would be lovely with a nice set of arch filling 18's with sticky fat rubber and a bit lower :nice:

Look forward to seeing more.

I really really like these ! Like love them to pieces! And yours does look lovely!

But the standard wheels are horrific and look like they've come straight out of halfords, IMO ofcourse.

Finally I get round to seeing it :D looks lovely there what a stunner. color is spot on wow.

Hope all is well over there keep us updated

the 9 is still running great got many many treats for it coming through the door every day at the minute ;)
