hey guys went to crail thrash the day the track was pretty greasy my best was 16.201 reaction time 203 launching at 4000 revs but couldnt get traction really what youse think ive got spoon system ith induction a think a should be doing alot beter than that even tho it was damp dont you think? there was another ek9 out doing roughly the same but a dont know

hmmm i was running 15.1s when i first got my 9 and that was just with full system and decat and air filter .

dont know pre facelift and thats what mine is the now decat filter system a think it could be traction

cool, I have done a 15.5 in mine with an exhaust and filter. got better and better with each run and it had more to give with a better launch

so you think it could of been traction the day?am going to replace spark plugs and cchange oil see if that makes difference

thats not a great time at all really. was the weather really bad?

dunno dude . even in the snow i was running low 15's lol .

tyres etc you running

my mate was running 14.8s in his fiesta van today no lsd or that either lol

Hmmmm what was your 60ft time mate? cos that counts for a lot! If your launching at 4000RPM in greasy conditions then youll be hitting Vtec straight away and just spinning up all day long which means you have probably got an awful 60ft which is why your time is really bad. I almost done a 16.2 in my 1.5 lsi eg!

Go again on a dry day and try launching a bit lower so you dont hit Vtec too soon and actually get a bit of grip.

It's strange that ek9's dont seem that quick on the 1/4 mile. My B16a eg (no LSD and budget tyres) use to do 14.5's all day long. I would have thought an Ek9 should match that suely.

or jus bloody sell the thing

Wouldn't go as far as selling it just cause you got a time you wern't happy with!

Would have expected low 15's for standardish example, loads of things to take into consideration though, tyres, stance, fuel, launch, weather :blabla:

Was this your first time on the 1/4?

was most likely the road conditions man if the 2 9's were doing bout the same time then that was probably the cause. Go up again when its dry:nice:

damp conditions are THE WORST conditions to race/drive in.. wait till a dry day fella then try again, how are you launching exactly?

16s are not to bad on a damp track bud. when the track is damp there is no grip at all. there is more grip when its full wet plus crail has not been used all winter and has a build up of moss whitch is just impossible to get off the line. iv run some 16s before in the damp. in the dry with a ek4 no lsd and just a filter i run a 15 dead.

damp

It was sunny all day
it didnt start raining until the last run
It was just the usal shite grip that Crail normally has, no worse than normal

I managed to get a 14.524 @ 94.9
I was launching between 3k and 4k
had to work the clutch and throttle to kepp traction though

Only got beat twice out of my 17 runs
once by a bike and once from a starlet when i got a missfire (so that doesnt count :p)

That sounds more like it :drive: what is your current spec and tyres, pressures etc?

EK with a b18c4
stripped out
Just a cat back (with de cat) and filter

Pressure i ended up with running them at 21psi (195/45/15 T1R`s)
I was getting really bad wheel hop to start with
I think i might of been able to drop them down a wee touch more
