been doing a lot of stuff over the last couple of month and thought I should eventually post!
Bought this off Lee at the start of august, unfortunately the head gasket went end of august, so I've rebuilt it Got new Buddyclub 0.5MM race spec HG HG, Water pump, thermostat, ARP head studs, MOST new gaskets etc and everything was running fine for a while so i bought some updates as follows....
Previous Build Up
Samco Hoses
Some lovely new samco hoses and the oem ones were getting a little dated.
Cam gears
New Buddyclub Cam Gears fitted weighed in at approx 100grams lighter each than standard ek9 ones, sweeeet... all good for rotation mass
Also tried to give the Timing belt side of the engine a little clean up but its such an awkward place to do! and so many little ledges etc. - Look at the difference between how clean the new water pump is and the rest
Crankshaft Oil Seal
This oil seal seemed to have gave up and I bit the bullet in this freezing cold weather (kindof...in my garage with a heater!) and got round to changing it the other day, new belts etc and also bought an inner timing belt cover from Mr H. as these seem impossible to find! and got an outer one for free from a lad near me (Cheers mate)

Previous Build Up
Camber Arms
Got these a couple of months ago, you can just sneakily see my J's Racing camber arms in the top of the pic, These are an extremely good bit of kit. Build quality is second to none! They do the job and have bolts for fasteners which I prefer over the allen heads.
Winter Prep
Done A couple of things lately,
Not that the car will be getting much use over winter anyway due to having a daily drive at the moment anyway but I done a bit of a winter prep ...
Nice tip i've learnt...Duct tape up the threads with copper anti sieze underneath. Undone the small lock and done underneath that aswell to get full thread coverage.
To Note
Forgot to put the spark plug cover back on for these pics and theres a nice one valve and spark plug cover coming soon
Intake
Bought a Skunk 2 Pro series intake Manifold portmatched to a 70mm BDL throttle body, and also a vacuum spacer to retain all vacuum lines.
The Skunk2 was hardly used but a little dirty so to freshen things up I cleaned it up a bit and a mate who lives closeby (Cheers Mark!)
painted it up gold for me. Can't really tell too much from these photos but its an awesome colour and is gonna match the new engine cover superbly O0
Also while the intake was being refitted I fitted a Hondata Intake heatshield gasket - No pic. (We all know what these look like)
Cleaned the old IAC / PCV valves while they were off too.
Also got it a little while ago but havn't updated the thread but I got a DC2 intake pipe and airbox with new air filter.
BDL
I've heard mixed stories but the BDL stuff are actually really nice bits of kit and seem well made
Fuel Filter
While everything was off the intake manifold etc I popped along to a local place and picked a new inline fuel filter (Pro 002 or something manufacturer, I can't remember) some new braided lines and a 90degree banjo fitment.
As you can see, with the 90degree banjo, the fuel line is redirected along the fuel rail and curves round along the bulkhead. With the fuel filter having a glass casing I'm going to make up a bracket to attach to the bulkhead to keep it secure. Couple of little additions on the line and fasteners will also be made eventually too.
Misc bits and bobs
Whilst I've had the manifold etc off I've gave it a full service....
Coolant, Oil and filter change, (Including fuel filter and air filter mentioned earlier)
Got some other goodies fitted now too:- Spoon reservoir socks
- Spoon Rad Cap
- Spoon Rad Stay
- Skunk2 Magnetic Sump set
- New Coolant expansion bottle/cap as the cap had got a crack in
- Front strut brace soon to be fitted but it's getting painted at the moment - Pics soon.
