my door wont open!

hey guys, the drivers door on my EK seems to open whenever it likes. when you unlock it from the inside with the little tab thing next to the handle and then pull the handle to open the door it feels as tho its not unlocked? so i have to fight with it for 10 mins open it. any ideas? could it be the latch on the door?

I had the same think on my eg and that was the latch that was at fault

From what your saying it sounds like the latch its catching and not releasing properly take of he doorcard and it will be easier to see what the full problem is!

I had the same problem on my passenger door, you need to get some silicone lube and spray it on all the parts, they seize up over time. I have to do my drivers door soon enough too, it's starting to act up. It'll take you at most an hour to do

thanks for the replys guys. my whole door is stripped as my car is in the paint shop so can see whats going on inside the door. sounds like the latch. anyone changed one before? how hard is it?

I fixed mine today. I tightened these three screws

and then pointed a spray can of lube in here and lubed it all up and back working perfect now

and here's a picture of it from the inside, inside here is where the trouble has been on both my doors. aim the can over to the right hand side

the whole job took me 20 mins and its like new again now

What is that gunk that Honda put on the door liners! Got so fed up with mine I removed it all with a rag and some petrol - now my components are waterproofed individually and I can work on the car without getting filthy every time.
