My DIY attempt at EK9 style headlight

no standard uk civic headlight..

It's odd enough for an original Honda headlights without any "HONDA" or "STANLEY" and dot approved series number on the lens.

That's a really impressive job. Looks like a really good you've made there, nice and clean/tidy,compared to some hash jobs I've seen over the years. Hats off dude. Changes the front end of the car no end. Lip is win too :)

looks gr8! is the paint mixed up by halfords to make that colour or can you just buy it like that cause i phoned up to get it and they said they cant mix it up :(

thanks.
if i ever do this again i would tint it next time, that will look even closer to ek9 headlights

what do you mean by tinting it? with what colour
may sound stupid ha but i really wanna do this, and as the norm, im afraid off messing it up

:)

This is great write up and definately something that i'm gonna do as i totally agree with the fact that the EK9 headlights are way too expensive even secondhand ones!

Gonna tackle this perhas at the weekend-thanks for the detaied pics process.

I tried doing this last wekend, but i didnt heat the sealing glue at all, and i could'nt prize the headlight casing and the back frame apart.
Would putting it in an oven work, or do i really have to get a heat gun?.................

oven would be better as it will distribute the heat evenly for you to split the headlight, heat gun just take time.

Dude I actually hate how much faster your car is cummin on then mine !!
That looks well good tho
nice job

i have had my car for nearly 2 years now but still its been very slow progress, more updates will arrive soon once they bloody arrive.

O that makes me feel better
I've had mine for 6months lol
still havnt got round to gettin the mugen rep lip

can we get a comparison pic/ one with genuine ek9 headlight and one with painted uk headlight?

excelent! it's rare to see people when open their headlights painting it with dark grey, most os people paint with black paint and that doesn't replicat ethe original lights, i liked this very much, keep the good work
