Hey all,

When i'm driving in 5 - 15mph, i hear a metal sound coming from the driver side. I'm sure its the brake pads. its like a metal rubbing sound which has a skip in it like if its the brake calipers.

Also when I break @ 20mph +, there is a squeeking sound. Is it time for a change?

Just go and take a look at your pads, looks like they are gone.

take the pads out, the pads have a metal backing and then the pad material attatched which contacts the disc. they are most likely worn right down to the backings by the sounds of it!

also be worth checking the condition of the discs, run your finger down both sides checking for scoring, also check for a lip at the top which will come as a result of them being worn

@ stevenEK9 - 'checking for scoring and lip at the top'? Really do apologies for my bad knowledge of motor's.

go to anywhere like kwit fit who check brakes for free to get opinion then just say youll come back and get them replaced with what you want and where you want (assuming it is pads)
