Description:

Regrettably up for sale is my mint 1991 Honda CRX Vtec :(

I have owned this car for just under 2 years and it's had no expense spared on it in that time. it's just not long back from having new arches welded in, and all other rust seen to as well as a full respray in oem frost white.

It's currently just turned 93k miles which is really low for a car of this age and it still drives faultlessly, only thing that has ever went wrong in my ownership was one of the upper balljoints which was replaced.

Wheels bearings etc are all sound, underside of the car is really clean for it's age as it's not seen a winter in the last 7 years (previous owner had it for 5 and kept it off the road in winter as well)

The car comes with a pile of modifications;

D2 Racing coilovers which aren't leaking and don't crash or make any strange noises.
Buddyclub P1 alloys which are mint and brand new Yokohama Parada Spec 2 tyres on them.
Tanabe SMR cat back exhaust system with an SRS decat. nice note, can be driven pretty quiet then gets really noisy when you put the foot down.
OMP suede steering wheel with a D1 Spec snap off boss kit fitted onto a boss kit on the car.
Sparco Pro 2000 seats with purple glitter back
Takata drivers harness (mint and genuine)
TRS green passenger harness
ITR Gearknob
Induction kit
Uprated HT leads
Import SIR bumpers
Js Racing Polyurethane front lip
Uprated 282 Front brakes
cusco front upper brace

Probably other bits i've missed as well

The car does have a squeak coming from one of the rear bushes but i do have a full custom made order i got from a groupbuy in the US of a full set of Energy suspension bushes all boxed that are going with the car. (Already had shifter bushes done last year)

ABS has been removed last year by Gerry at Performancetek in glasgow (receipts to prove) as it was faulty and i felt it didn't work correctly with the brake upgrade

The car is currently fully bare at the rear but i do have the full rear interior sitting in my attic for it as well as the stock front seats as well if needed

Just today i have replaced the boot seal with a genuine honda one at the cost of £120 and i have also done the rear light seals as these are common places to leak on the crx

The sun roof has been replaced with a fibreglass bung and fully sealed in, along with the boot smothed and the aerial and rear window washer jet holes smoothed when it was resprayed

The interior roof lining had been retrimmed in black suede along with the a pillars and gear and handbrake gaitors (yellow stitched)

It's just passed it's MOT with no advisories, still got 5 months tax on it

It does have the common slight leak from the cam end seal and vtec solenoid but i have a cam end seal cap sitting here and a solenoid seal is only £20 and both are simple to fit in an afternoon.

Even though it has the slight seepage leak the car doesn't burn or use any oil in the 4k between oil changes

The car is also just going to be serviced ready for it's new owner and the spark plugs were only done about 3-4k ago as well

The car comes with a TOAD ai606 CAT 1 alarm installed which is fully working and has the certificates for insurance

Along with that is a full ringbinder folder full of previous honda service history, parts reciepts etc.

I have probably missed loads out on the information of the car but feel free to come and have a look as i'd say it's one of the best in the country and fairly priced considering all the recent work just gone into it

Overall the car has been an absolute pleasure to own but as i'll be 22 soon i can finally afford type r insurance so that is the only reason i'm getting rid of it

Viewing available most weekends and nights

Price is £3500 which i find is fair for the fact the car has just been resprayed, is low mileage and all the mods on it.

Thanks

John

Unbelievable car, would LOVE to buy this and drop my forged b20 in it, such a rare and good condition car, if I wasn't being sensible and saving my money i'd snap this up in a heartbeat,

may i ask reason for sale? this is such an iconic and EPIC car!

I would love to put a big engine in it and keep it but reason for sale is having gotten a new job recently and the fact i'll be 22 soon i can finally afford to insure an EK9 as a 2nd car so looking for one as a birthday present to myself haha

Be really sad to see the crx go and i know for a fact ill never find as good a one and i'll probs regret it, but i've wanted a 9 since i was 17 :D

Don't resist, give her a good home :)

Was wanting to hold out for an ek9. Insurance is steep though 1700 to be exact. What's the insurance like on these. Can't get a quote, confused.com is being weird

Insurance is really cheap for me on this, I'm £600 a year with it as my second car using 0ncb on it, and cause its a uk model it's cheaper

Why you downgrading your car?:((

GLWS looks a really nice example.

Murray

amazing....................

that is all this will not hang around mate

Thanks Jordan101, means a lot :)

Eh Murray I've always wanted an ek9 track car since I was 17. I do love the crx to bits and find it drives absolute perfect due to the lightweightness of it but I'll never forgive myself if I don't give a 9 a try

How much you looking to spend on an EK9?

As much as I should be getting a sensible car........would love this!!!

Eh depends really on how clean it is, mods etc, but was trying for 5-5.5k man

Yours up for sale?
