Well I have been after an MX5 for a while so after selling my B series JRSC kit I decided to start looking. Always the same! Waiting for a bus and 2 come at once! Just had to get Both haha.

First off I hear of a rare Supercharged MK1 with few goodies on that was for sale but wasn't able to track it down yet, when a mint fresh resprayed 1989 Blue mk1 came up at a steal. So had to snap it up.






While messing about checking out this one and giving it a service + wheel alginment I got a random call of a mate with details of the Supercharged one for sale. :angry2:. Thank god for overdrafts :drive:

Managed to get the cash together and go check it out. He wanted a fair bit but when I turned up it was sat in a barn and had been there almost a year. Wasn't even running. Haggled him down and came to a price. Plus this one came with a tone of spares. Wheels, doors, Head etc. Managed to get a trailer sorted but in meantime he managed to get it running.



I still quite tatty but will clean up.





Cant help but service and align any car I get, straight away.

So turns out its a 1993 JRSC 1.6 around 160-180hp, Bilsteins, Paddle clutch, lightend flywheel, possible Torsen LSD maybe a viscous though and few other bits here and there.

Already have a buyer for the blue one at a little profit. All in the space of a week haha.

Two great cars there mate, well done.

Particularly with the JRSC model! that will be a brilliant combination. Very enjoyable to drive I expect!
 
Wasn't really on the market for either. As I actually want a better base start like a 94> 1.8 or even better a 99-00 1.8. As they come with so much more out of the box. Might end up just cleaning up this one and selling on. S/C 1.6 is cool as, but not that as much potential a 1.8 or Turbo setup.
 
Little update on the 5

Made a new intake as the JR one was well past it with holes all over the place in it.



Finally sourced a Hard top. Turns out to be an absolute nightmare trying to get one shipped here from across so managed to buy one off another MX5 that was for sale. Also relocated the Num plate and swapped for a JDM one to cover the snapped, cable tie stitched bumper.



Then these arrived, first brand new set of wheels I have ever bought. Seeing as my Civic's Pro Race 1's are in the process of a refirb/colour change I stole the full set of Mich PE2's off them



The red hard top doesn't actually look to out of place. Will be getting sprayed black though eventually. Need this thing to look a little gay as possible.





Think I have found the colour for my TD pro race 1's. Bloody loving that anthracite.

Epic cars, My bro has just bought a JRSC mx-5 1.8 and its epic fun, the whine from the supercharger is epic !
