i have a jdm dc2 backbox mugen twinloop and iam very hapy with it, put i hear from many thats its not very good in performans and that the oem dc2 backbox is better than mugen. i have b16b and soon(i hope) b18cr.
i want the best performance with the less sound. what is yours opinions
thanks

I think you will struggle mate if you want a whisper quiet exhaust and the best performance gains. I think you are best off getting a custom system made up.

If I could find one of these for an ek9 I would buy one!
Kakimoto Regu.06&R Exhaust Muffler DC5

My friend has it on his dc5 - very quiet when driving around normally and a nice (but not ott) in vtech. Will pass any trackday noise limit no issues at all!

The OEM box is not better than the Mugen Twin loop its has been proven before. It turned out better than a Spoon Street.

Way to many myths about Vtecs and parts.

The twin loop is an upgrade and quite a good one if you want to stay as quiet as possible. Yea is not the most free flowing back box or center section and there are plenty of better flowing systems out there. But its certainly better than standard.

i dont have the center section so i will use the oem one and for backbox i will use the mugen. i will remove the cat also.do you think it will be quiet and have nice sound or i have to use the mugen backbox with the mugen center section?for performance i think it will be better than standard set up.

I've got a twinloop catback system and find it pretty damn good, yes its not the most free flowing system but I find it ideal for everyday driving as it gives pretty good gains with minimal noise but there is still a nice sound off vtec. :)

thanks for the info. do you think that the twinloop backbox it will works ok with the oem dc2 center section and with out the cat?
thanks

It should do yeah I've ran mine with and without the cat and find that the cat somewhat dampens the sound of the exhaust but once against the twinloop isn't the most freeflowing exhaust so I keep the cat out of it because I want to keep the exhaust gases flowing as best as they can which the cat would somewhat restrict

driven a dc2 with a twinloop accompanied by an AEM induction kit
the sound off vtec was almost oem
but in vtec it gave an amazing raspy tone :nice:
yesssssssss. this is what want when i drive normal i want it almost like oem put when i use vtech i want nice and sporting sound:thanks:

is anyone knows if the mid section of ek9 is the same with the mid section of dc2?
