Hi guys, I been doing alot of resarch lately about this particulary ecu. I keep on getting different reviews.
Some say its to wild for an EK9 with bolt ons, others says it amazing, others recommend the Spoon ecu.
The gave gave my a part number to confirm is genuine Mugen N1 i contacted Mugen Japan but no reply. Is there anywhere else i can contact to confirm if it is genuine. Well it looks genuine to me.
The Mugen N1 i found is for my car, obd2b for a facelift ek9, i have AEM air filter, rmf headers, de cat pipe and monster sport exhaust. Iv read the rev limit is to high 9100 for stock valves and springs but im obviously not gona rev that high 8200 max il be taking it.
I been looking for a tunable ecu such as Hondata s300 but unfortu there are no tuners were i am to tune Hondata :(
yet again i was looking at a Pherable ecu...
will the mugen be a waist of money?? shall i stick with a pherable ecu???
Help please guys cause im tired of searching for an ecu for my car its been so long and my option arnt alot.

its a pre-mapped ecu based on the spec of their car hence it's may not suits yours at all.

Where you from mate..?

i had one on my JDM EP3, it got to the point where the mugen was drinking fuel so much i had to get hondata kpro to improve fuel economy and also to map the car past the "fixed capability" of the mugen ecu.

the mugen is good for basic induction kit and cat back exhaust anything more then you will need a mappable ecu.

Im only running Manifold,de-cat,exhaust, AEM induction kit and about o get a 68mm tb.
Will the mugen ecu teach itself to my mods like the spoon does or shall i keep away from both and try get a power fc and search for a good tuner?

the mugen and spoon is only good for what it was mapped for. what i have been reading up on power fc is good if you drag racing/street racing or do track days because you can adjust it with the hand controller. if you want a fit and forget ecu then S300 is what you want. from my experience with mapped cars i would go hondata everytime.

no 1 can tune hondata in my area or anywhere i knw in Cyprus thats why im limited to Mugen,Spoon or power fc, or maybe a custom tune from Pherable?

I have no experience with the mugen N1 ecu mate, as i drive an EG6 i have no idea so sorry if this sound dumb.
you stated you would change gear at 8200
i have a feels ecu on my car its the same sort of thing its pre programmed but if i were to change gear at 8200 i would fall out of Vtec. is this the case in an EK9.
the feels ecu is brilliant no problems with it at all but everything performance on my engine is feels so you'd expect it to work great.
i guess to use the mugen system you would really be best speaking to mugen and asking them what they fitted on the car to run the ECU but then they are only gonna fit they're parts.
sorry i haven't helped at all i've asked more questions than answered yours lol.
personally if you can afford it i'd get a mapable ecu and get it tuned then you'll have no worries at all.

i would go with the apexi then, the spoon and mugen wont keep up with the spec of the car.

Maybe this can help you guys a bit. It's for DC5 but I think you'll get an idea.
