Hi All,

I'm just planning some mods for my soon to be EK9.

I know quite alot about makes and models etc of cars but when it comes to under the bonnet - im just not that technically minded!

What other realistic mods for an everyday ek9 would see the best gains from the Apexi FC Commander??

:thanks:

No need to say more about the rule (intake-header-exhaust). Definitely, you should get some aftermarket camshafts, throttle body and also open your engine and work on it. Port and polishing is important to raise your compression ratio along with a thinner gasket. Also do not ignore mods just because they do not increase power like upgrading your valvesprings and valve covers because you are playing with your engine's safety. A standalone aftermarket ECU can't do much, especially on a 1.6 L N/A engine

cheers manos - maybe i should have said im on a budget lol.

so basically the 3 main ones to have with it are intake, header and exhaust?

These 3 are called external mods and there is no meaning to start "internally" building your motor without these first... :nice:

My point of view is different,

What mods to the apexi power fc to match your mods, remember that this is a full programmable ecu and you need to tune it, but with a better intake, exhaust, and header you should get great results :)

I didn't say that I - H - E will not give great results, in contrast I said that these are a MUST before anything else.......I agree that with a properly tuned Power FC, you should be able to see very good gains with these 3 mods but I took it a bit further with cams, P & P..........:nice:

intake, exhuast, header, fuel pump, FPR, 310cc injectors for NA, 550+ if turbo :nice: we tune a lot of cars and the first thing that limits us is stock injectors or stock fuel pump. we dont even tune cars with stock fuel pumps anymore.
