Item: Focus RS (mk1)
Location: Aberdeen
Contact: Drop me a PM for my email address/phone number
Price: £6750
MOT: 30/09/2014
Tax: 30/05/2014
Mileage: Just over 90k, rising very slightly
For sale is my 2003 mk1 Focus RS with just over 90k miles. It has 11m MOT and 6m tax and is located in Aberdeen. Iâve had the car for 18 months and am selling as I fancy a change. Iâm ideally looking for a Lupo GTi, Golf GTi or performance Honda but would consider most performance-orientated models. If she doesnât sell Iâll hold on for another six months and try again after winter.
Interior
The interior is clean, I wet vac'd the entire inside and changed the seats to ensure there is minimal bolster wear. The only outstanding item to be done inside is to refurbish the steering wheel. The centre console is colour coded blue to match the exterior.
Mechanicals
The mechanicals are in good working order. It has FSH up to approximately 70k then was self serviced from then on. I've got some receipts etc from previous owners as well as my own. In the past 12m Iâve done an oil change, changed the front break pads and done the belts et al including the power steering belt while it was off.
The charge cooler pump works perfectly, which is an area to watch for on these. I also replaced the thermostat housing.
Bodywork
Iâve machine polished the car therefore the majority of the paint is good. There are stonechips on the front bumper and around the rear arches and one small ding on the boot lid. There is also a patch of rust on the tailgate, common on Focus RSâ unfortunately.
The wheels were refurbished in anthracite in April 2012 however one has been curbed since. The front tyres are Kuhmos, the rears were replaced in summer with two brand new Hankook variants.
I had the front arches of the car cut back and repaired to cure rust earlier this year with the car fully undersealed immediately after to prevent further rusting. Iâve got the receipt for this work.
Modifications
In terms of modifications the car has a full scorpion exhaust system with decat and a blue fin chip. This combination should see power in the region of 260-275bhp based on similar cars that have been dynoâd.
Note there is only one working key, the other has not been coded to start the car (but can open the door locks etc.).
If you have any questions feel free to get in touch.
Note the pictures were taken about 500 miles ago before the arches were repaired. The mudflaps have also been removed since. I've got some more recent ones available full size if anyone is interested which I can email across.
Thanks.
