So took my motor out for a decent drive tonight ( first time since I've put my engine/suspension in)

So I've got a knocking more so from the front, sounds like the top mounts knocking of the strut towers.

Was thinking about putting some foam pads on the tops.

My mate suggested I loosen the top mount bolts with the car off the ground then put it back down and tighten them. Gonna try it tommorow

In the meantime does anyone have any other suggestions or experiences?

Oh and the I've fully bushed car with Hardrace items

Thanks for any suggestions :)

I'd check to make sure everything is tight, especially anti roll bar if you've had it all off

Had the same issue with one of my D2's (very similar to meister's) wich turned out to need a new damper. they also only had a couple of k's on them

is the damper leaking at all? mine wasnt but thats always a good indication.

Nope it's not leaking, I doubt it would be a damper cos they were in really good nick when I got them. The damper adjustments work perfectly too.

is your car really low ? could be the upper camber arms knocking off the chassis

not that i'd recommend it but i have seen people cut sections of their chassis out to stop it hitting.

would it be ok to cut a section out and weld a piece on higher up ?

I have also seen people doing this but no way would I be at it, my car is at its lowest that I will have it and its rarely that they hit, I would be raising my car if it was that bad instead of cutting at my strut tops, I have heard aftermarket camber adjusters make this problem worse than oem camber arms

It's not that low( around half way wound in )

Does sorta sound like that though.

I'll have a look at the underseal on the arms and the arch to see if they've been making contact. Cheers for the advise mate
