To be precise, I'm looking for an ignition barrel that has the provisions for the immobiliser parts. Straight away that means no JDM barrels.
Pictured are the new barrel I got (left), which doesn't fit my column, and my old broken barrel (right).
What happened was I sized up the new barrel to the column and the barrel doesn't sit on the column at all. More like its impossible. I wasn't aware of this difference and didn't anticipate it. Theres also different shaped slots I'm only learning about. Circular and oval.
You can see in the picture, theres a few millimetre difference, but its enough for the barrel to not work.
Now, I could just get a column to suit this barrel, but I rather buy another barrel considering the size and weight if I had to ship it internationally. The measurement of the barrel I need is around 36mm. Its the diameter of where it would sit on the column. I literally need the metal casing. I don't need the immobiliser parts, as I'm sure those fit all the same.
The column I have encountered 3 variations including my original EM1 one... Honda being Honda.
