Bought some T10 LED number plate bulbs not long ago but sometimes they flicker, iv changed the fittings and still get the same problem. Anyone know why or what it is that's causing it? Any help much appreciated

Where did you get them from mate and how much did you pay? Could just be cheap and nasty efforts.

Bought them on eBay, the first set were only 1.99 so I thought the exact same thing. Got another pair for 7.99 but still get the same problem.

What's the fit like? Do you feel they are nice and secure in the holder or are they loose? I have had LEDs for a few years with zero issues....

Yeah one was slightly loose so I bought a new pair of fittings, both in perfect condition. Fitted them with the £8 LEDs and same issue, sometimes they work fine but most of the time they're flickering slightly. How much do you spend on your ones mate?

Maybe have a bad earth some where?

Yea oifovo where did you get yours from?

Friend of mine had this same problem. He had to keep changing them more time than enough :( turned out it was just the brand of bulbs he was using

Yeah does someone know a good brand/site to get decent ones?

I got the cheapest ones I could see on fleabay. Must have been just lucky I guess?

Might just have to try different brands until I find a decent one

I installed one light on the trunk, and had the same issue.

How do you know if its the led you bought or some ground / cable in your car?

Simple, if all the leds of the led strip goes off, then there is a problem with your car connection.

If only 1 led bulb from the led strip goes off, then you have a bad led strip.

For the license plate led replacement you should have around a 5 led strip system.

Honestly , in my 12 year as a honda enthusiast I've never seen a electrical interior light system fail ...

Iv got 5 LEDs on each fitting but ill check wether it is just a single led flickering or if its the whole strip, cheers for the help lads

Ok, if the whole led bulb / strip power off, there might be a problem with the connector or with the wiring with your car ( honestly I've never seen a interior light wiring failure)

led connector that can have a false contact:

If only one or more led lights goes off, then you have a bad led system.

if it's flickering its most likely the connection. it might sound dumb but flip it round as mine only work one way round

I have just done the whole LED venture and so far no problems with ebay ones, i did look at more expensive ones from Osram who are HUGE when it comes to lighting (use them as an electrical engineer)

Problem is, to get 4no 501's and 3no interiors (forgot type) it was going to cost £60+ for Osram. So decided to get ebay specials 1st to see quality etc and i am happy so far :nice:

PLEASE NOTE
That LED replacements are not approved for the road, as the Osram states "off-road". The Osram ones would have went through some R&D and testing so should be better quality! You get what you pay for!

I also just bought ones off ebay. And doing well so far :). Cost me just under 6 quid for 4. Seem to be of good quality aswell.

I have led on my ek for 3 years now with no problems. I just pay 2 euro for 2.
just put your oem lamps back and check what happen. if you still have a problem then check the wiring and connections on your car
