Right, whats the deal with these they range from around £90 all the way to £250 for a set but to me they all look the same and do the exact same job, some one explain to me why the like of Function 7's are £200 and then D2's are only £100 ?

Apart from F7 being the supposed Daddy of LCA's why should i spend double the price on them if every brand does the same job ?? :blinx:

its all about the bushings
the function 7 ones have really bigg, stiff bushings
but if you compare it to the d2 ones their really small and soft so after a 6 months or so they will split and you'll need some new one
hope this helps

Fair play but is the whole busjes wearing within 6 months proven or what ?? also if thats the only really diff why in the **** are they double the price !

im cont prove that they split but i read around say some cheaper ones do.
but f7 gives you 3 hole in which you can decide where to bolt the droplinks to giving different stiffness on your antiroll bar
but d2's will do the job if your wanting to run wider wheels

Im just look at options atm and wondered why in the hell there was such a price difference, Im used to Renaults all you needed were a set of coils proper wheel alignment and jobs a good ane !

Are they a worth while mod in the end for the price they are ? will i see a difference in handling ?

if You dont whore the car around the track, You wont see any difference in handling.
Skunk2 LCA's - 8000km and bushings were junk and replaced under warranty. thankfully theyre replacable

Once the cars sorted and running 100% then it will be getting abuse at track in the new year but atm its abuse round the Scottish back roads !!! :drive:

the only reason why i think you should have them is;
-for looks
-if your going to slam your car to the ground, so you can pull your wheels in abit to lessen the chamber

lca's are same size as oem so no camber correction. for that You need adjustable upper control arms.

I asked a similar question and was told it was bushings as well!

Can you get LCA's and change the bushings before fitting?

Yes you can buy LCA's and then change the bushes, but you need the correct tools to do so, or a garge that can do it for you.

I have to say this: Whatever you do do NOT buy Blox LCA's...the bushings in them are absolute garbage. They went bad in about 2 months for me. I replaced them with Skunk2 Limited Edition LCA's and the difference is incredible. About what someone said up top about the bushings in the Skunk 2's...they don't have as long a life but they work much better than OEM rubber until it's time to replace them. That is the trade off. Wear life goes down as performance goes up...under NORMAL circumstances...

im running skunk 2 lcas and done over 10k miles and had them on a year and a half and bushes still like new .

I may have to pay you a visit while im off mate have a gander at your car !
