Right fellas so as it stands i sold my ek9 today. Now have cash and a lot of options. . . I have narrowed it down to 3 cars.

1. ek9 b16b Civic Type R 00 CARBON SPEC!!!!!!!! for sale in Limerick - DoneDeal.ie
2. ek4 k20a Honda Civic EK K20 for sale in Cork: €0 - DoneDeal.ie
3. ep3 k20a ukdm Honda Civic type R Ep3 ***Mint*** for sale in Cork - DoneDeal.ie

I am aware that ek9s are such great handling all round car. Not too sure on how the ep handle or how quick to go but i assume there still good as there a type r and as for the ek4 i know the owner very well have been in it a lot. Extremely clean and fast car... :)

So please give me your opinions lads

i like number 1 - the yellow ek9 - bar the Mugen stickers on the rear quarter!

i like number 2 - it's a K20 ek! - it just needs some ek9 headlights!

i like number 3 - looks completely standard but you may want a change from an ek, if you've just sold one.

if i was looking at this without owning an ek9 then i'd get number 1 but it depends on your reasons for selling the initial one. i'd say if it's a short time car then number 2 but if you fancy a change and it's going to be a keeper then number 3!

i know i've kinda talked in riddles here but it's a tough one! good luck mate! :)

whichever you choose, looks like you'll be getting a good motor :)

Well my reason for selling my current ek9 is because it was pre facelift. Rushed into buying it day 1 because it was b18c..

The ep3 is lovely but i will be paying 2 liter tax also. Also i love eks anyway. I think there a little nicer than ep's something special about them and that ek4 is the cleanest around

No brainer for me - K20 EK4 FTW :drive:

But all 3 are very nice cars :naughty:

ditto and its got 245hp :)

just noticed something.....subconciously you have allready ruled out the ep3.
check out your title mate .....

Lol thanks for that haha. I reckon this hole engine swapping can keep going on. They will have to put a stop to it and if they do the car will never seen an nct/mot again

if it was me mate i would go for the ek4 k20 not that many about at the min :nice:

I'd go for the k20 ek it's got a decent spec list aside from the engine already

Well i think everyone is picking the k20 but the only thing thats putting me off that is this whole engine swapping its causing trouble over here and i dunno can i see it being tolerated much longer?:nono:

the k20 ek is nice but i will admitt speed isnt everything to me the yellow 9 looks awsome all that carbon would have a cost a lot!

No brainer for me mate - K20 FTW! :D

As for the engine swapping, If you feel its a problem then the yellow EK9 is a fookin beauty! I would be happy with that and as stated that carbon would have cost a LOT.

well if you're worried about the engine swap on the ep3 and ek4 then why not get the EK9? seems like you've already decided and you just want people opinion :)

I think thats pretty much it. I rang all the owners and the ep3 is the cheapest then the k20 ek4 and then the ek9. Leaning towards the ep3

Are the ukdm ep3 bad to insure does anyone know?

i think the ek9 is the best option. when the time comes to nct the k20 ek4, you will have to change the log book and make sure you have it insured as a k20. in my opinion the ek9 looks best in yellow plus it will have cheaper running costs. power is not every thing nowadays :p
