So for the first time today I got the car on a dyno .
First off i got 145 ft of torque with a really smooth curve which I was happy about
But then , max power 158 hp @ 8000 rpm
With aftermarket cams ,full breathing mods , ecu and clutch/flywheel I'm wondering how this possible ? I'm not expecting any major figures but I can't see how 158 bhp is right ?
Could anyone shine any light on this ? Thanks !

Don't always read into a dyno reading mate, as long as it drives well, it shouldnt matter.

What engine is it?

It's a b16a2
your right I couldn't agree more , and I am happy with how it drives , it's fast
I'm just wondering if I can get a better insight into this as I don't think it's right

Something is restricting it like cam timing , as your getting a good torque figure.

Post up a pic of the graph if you can

Yeah it's mapped for the cams .
ill try get the pics later my broadband isn't great

What dyno was it? It wasnt one of these shoot-out figure dyno's was it, like you get at Pod. That told me i had 150bhp from my b16b with a fair few mods...

Different dynos will give different results. These numbers on another make could show 180hp. If you feel the car has gained imPortant power or even better have a comparison with a mate then ignore dyno numbers. Rollers are merely a tuning tool.

If your car has indeed gained then you have nothing to worrie about. Same thing for me mapping my b18. Had a nice spec and made just 204 when on a mana couple years back stock had made 200!!! When I went to a 3rd dyno I got 220. Go figure. But car was crazy on the road so didn't worrie much.

ive been on the same dyno for y e a r s .
makes it easy to see gains, over going to different locations getting different readings. Even temperature messes with results use only one dyno, let alone different dynos/tuners.

Hard to hold one up against another I guess is what I am getting at.
