Car went away for cage and paint, and its come back with me not being able to take the key out the ignition or even turn it, its completely stuck on one click (accessory?) I cant turn it either way or pull the thing out.
The steering column has been off the car and removed, then put back on (not sure if any relevance?) and the steering lock isnt on, I can freely move the wheel all the way round both ways.
I cant work out how to take the thing off, but google seems to think I have to cut two slits in some studs and try tap them round and out - is this the only way of removing my barrel and will it work with a key stuck in there?
I've tried tapping the barrel and the key, tried oil down it and nothing. still the exact same no matter what I do!

It's driving me mental and I have absolutely no idea what to do about it :alone:

Have you tried turning it with a pair of pliers? It's amazing how little torque there is in your hand so a wee bit mechanical advantage can help. Worked for me in the past. Had a key stuck in a barrel on a toyota and got it out by spraying wurth rost off ice into the barrel then twisting the key hard both directions with vice grips while a mate knocked the side of the barrel with a hammer.

If you look on top of the Colum, above the ignition barrel. You'll see 2 like silver security bolt heads, if you get a chisel or something with a decent point and tap them round you'll be able to remove the barrel.

maybe take it to a key shop? I know when mine got stuck in, on another car I had and when it's happened in work, we've had to take them off the car and either dissemble them or get a key shop to dissemble.

I don't like bashing them out as you may damage the tumbler system inside and not be able to use a key again
