K24 Frank EP3 track build

Hi all,

Decided to start a build thread on here for my ep3 , had previously got an ek civic that I was kswapping but this popped up for a good price so the ek will go into hibernation for a while.

The EP3 needs some tidying but I am getting there slowly ! I will update with more jobs as I progress but following has been done so far
-rear suspension sandblasted/painted and fully rebushed

• rear callipers fully rebuilt and new pbs race pads
• tegiwa 24mm adjustable rear arb
• hardrace rear lca
• hardrace rear camber arms
• new rear wheel bearing
• new abs sensor
• eibach front camber bolts
• eibach sport springs
• carbon dipped centre console
• full stripped interior
• boot floor resprayed
• new tensioner pulley and belt
• front& rear bumper resprayed
• headlights split and painted

I will update with spec list at later date but it is a 255BHP k24 frank with DC5 5.1FD gearbox.

I got it in May but its been in Ireland the past 5 years or more.

They would look real good on an ek9 ! also not very common which is a bonus.

Some bits done recently.
Front underbody, subframe and suspension cleaned down and repainted.

Area motorsport spec Y/S Coilovers with adjustable castor top mounts (8kg front and 16kg rear spring rate)

Super pro castor increase LCA bushes

Front and rear wheel bearings replaced

SHG steering rack slider

Hardrace roll centre outer tie rods (inverted)
Hardrace inner tie rods

Hardrace roll centre lower ball joints

Vtec solenoid gasket replaced and unit cleaned

Oil sandwich plate with pressure sensor

Headlight DIY

Also did the following but took very little pics!

temp sensor fitted to Baffled steel sump
Rocker cover gasket replaced
tegiwa Spark plug cover
Hardrace extended wheel studs , Muteki wheel nuts.
JDM ARB with Hardrace droplinks
Rigid collar inserts for subframe
Tegiwa rack raiser


To be installed :
Hybrid racing shifter spring and indent springs
Hybrid racing shifter cable bushes
Revo short shifter

drilled and grooved discs

Installed hybrid racing shifter spring / indents and acuity bushes on the gear linkage tonight
Shifter feels much stiffer but still has some play/vagueness . Going to take it for a test drive like this before I put in the revo shifter to compare .

Finally got the car to a track day , the reason I got her to begin with !
It went very good with no issues , big difference to my eg6 and turbo mx5 on how the cars just pulls out of corners even when revs are a bit low . No longer stuck behind cars !
The alignment is prob a bit too aggressive as car is unstable on straights . I will try one more trackday with this alignment and make changes after .
The brakes are mega , so much so that the next mod will be a proper harness for the pole position .
The exhaust is very loud so that is currently being redone so I can do some trackdays overseas without being banned!

I did another trackday Friday in Mondello . Car went really well and took alot of time off my previous time .
Next up is NCT and then i have a few upgrades in mind .
