I am buying a JDM b16b from Hmotorsonline.com and it includes the b16b wiring harness i putting it in a USMD 1996 CX hatch, my question is what modification will i need to make it fit the LHD hatch, the engine in right now is D16y7.

It will be eaiser for you to convert your D16y7 loom to work on your B16B.

You need to add in the Vtec sol wire, Move the 02 sensor from the front of the loom to the back. Repin the IACV plug at the ecu and change it from a 3 pin to a 2 pin plug at the IACV.

Thats about it. The B16b loom your getting will be set up for RHD so it wont fit right on yours.

There is a sheet on what pins you need to do it. But not a step by step how to that I know of.

If you had been in the UK I could do it for you.

ya thats the problem i been having i can find anything on step by step. i know my car is obd2 will the ecu that comes with the b16b is odb 2 aswell and will my d16y7 harness fit the ecu?

Depends on the year of your car and the year of the car your getting the b16b from.

96-98 obd2a

99-2000 obd2b.

So thats how you can tell.

If your getting the same obd series as your car the D series loom will plug in to the b16b ecu.

If not then you'll need to get an obd conversion harness.

All you have to do is get an 99-00 civic si harness and its literally plug and play my friend, i did the same swap with the same previous motor. :))

That would be correct if he had a 99-2000 civic. But his is an obd2a so the 99 to 2000 si harness froma b16a2 would plug and play on the motor but it will be missing a plug for the ecu as the obd2b harness that it would be only has 2 plugs on the engine harness and one is connected to the dash loom.

I am sure you can ask them for the correct obd series motor for your car. EK9's came in both set up so it shouldn't be a problem.

so if i get the 97-98 motor all i should need to do is mod the d16y7 harness alittle and it should be fine with no cel?
