Hi I've recently bought a Honda civic ej9 1998 which has had a b16a2 dropped in it.

The lad I bought it off had taken it in part ex so he knew nothing about the swap or anything.

Right now to the point it has engine light but when I connect the two wires to show me the error codes it has loads,

Idle air control valve
Ignition output signal
Crank fluctuation sensor
And a few more I can't remember but I've researched somewhere that having the wrong ecu can bring up faults as it is looking for stuff it shouldn't therefore throughs up an error code if you catch my drift

This should be a picture of the ecu code I have, is this right???

you have the correct ecu. about the CEL could be something wrong with the conversion harness. your car beeing an obd2a and ecu beeing obd2b i mean.

I've read about the different obd's I was thinking of buying a obd1 ecu off htune for the fact you can chip it and also buy the right harness, so my car is obd2a

A friend also has a converted civic would I be able to borrow his ecu see if engine lights stay off, he has a obd1 ecu and his car is a converted ej9 but 2000 yr model where mine is 1998.

Thanks for reply appreciate any help and advice (new to the Honda game and also tidying up previous owners mistakes)
