Does any one know what the purpose is for the bit at the end of the gear linkage, to the left of the blue line.. It was catching my exhaust, so I just cut it off. Will this cause any issues down the line that any one knows off?
Sorry to revive an old thread but i need the same question answering, as it will be alot easier for me to cut this part of the linkage off instead of moving my whole exhaust lower for the sake of a few mm.
Also, if I do move my exhaust lower, I will have clearance issues with the ground.
Cheers lads.
lmao yeah the pic isn't the best but i could only find this thread with a picture already attached.
The part in question is just below where the shifter bolts to the linkage. It's like a metal rod that doesn't seem to have a job..
I don't think it's needed. We thought about it with a mates shifter too.
Aslong as its not cut further back than the shifter bolts/bushes it's self I couldn't see why not, i thought it was just excess
Ye hes talking the gearbox end of the linkage. I thought it could be some kind of weight, but as the rods are fixed each end i cant see how it would effect it. Maybe its just from the manufacturing process.
yh im not that saft to chop off a mounting point lol. i will report back when i have chopped it and tried it out. can't see it causing any problems at all though tbh.
