is this odd? or just a placebo?

had my NCT there yesterday, so i threw back on the teg standard exhaust, had a buddyclub spec 3 on it before that and it was loud, i convinced myself i didnt like it and always planned to put the standard one back on anyway.

but now when im driving it, when i hit V-Tec i cant actually hear it, with my old exhaust the thing went insane, crossover was mental, but with this it just doesnt seem to pull half as much and i cant hear it changing over.


is it just because its not loud and viscious that i think its not going fast or would a catback exhaust really make much difference in power?

a cat back shouldn't make that much difference, you might notice a small difference, but ya sure it will sound way louder but only get a few ponies from it,
but type r's have a 2.5inch pipe aswell anyway yano, id say its ur head playing tricks on ya haha but you should hear the crossover it should still have a good growl to it.

DC2 or EK9 Neither have a 2.5" standard exhaust, That is a myth. Its in the region of 2.3" external that flares down to 2" on the joints and from the rear of the center section.

So yes a Cat back system will make a difference. Gone back to standard a few times and noticed it every time.

yeah it really doesnt, its like im drivin a ford focus or something!

it takes off still like and u can feel it, and spins in second still but can hardly hear it... almost upsetting!

i can feel it in the pedal as well its like it needs to be pressed more for the flow to go through the exhaust.... madness!
