i was wondering if the b16a2 is good engine for the ek because i am really low on cash 2 buy the b16b?

I will assume that you have a D series engine.

Its a good engine, i think this engine came on the 99-00 Si USA Honda Civic

Here are the specs:

Engine: B16A2
Displacement: 1595cc
Compression ratio: 10.2:1
Power: 160 Hp @ 7600 rpm
Torque: 111 lb/ft @ 7000 rpm

The B16B has a higher compression, and like 7 lb/ft more of torque. And 25 hp more keep in mind this.

For what are you going to use your car? maybe you can get a USA Integra GSR Motor. It's a better option.

so what engine do you recommend?

I think you can get a B18C1 gsr engine for almost the same price of the b16a2 maybe 500 $ more.

You will have more hp, more compression, more displacement and of course more torque. :nice:

get the b18c if you can even if it cost more, its worth it. if not the b16a isent terribly bad, what are your plans for the motor, what will it be used for?

im just using it for daily dribing because my motor is like about to break down haha

b18c is a lot better for daily driving due to the increase in tq when compared to the b16a. the slightly longer b18c tranny also makes fwy driving more tolerable, example:

b16a/b tranny at 80mph= approx 4500-4600rpm depending on wheel size

b18c tranny at 80mph= approx 3900-4200rpm depending on wheel size

if you can buy a b18c1 it will be better.

alright thanks guys i will buy the b18c1 just got a deal for that engine for 200 doller more:)

get B18C GSR n soon upgrade to type R parts slowly!

type r parts are not the best. i would never upgrade to type r parts, if you already have them like most of us there great, but there is better out there for a lot cheaper.

what is the compression for a b16a with b16b piston and itr head. My frd is using this on his car and thinking of what cam to put on now.
