Hey peeps!

I have managed to get a DC2 Airbox from an Integra and i'm trying to fit it to my facelift EK4 B16 VTi. I know how to mount the box with brackets etc so it looks standard but I have noticed that the pipe on the air filter is larger than the pipe coming from my throttle body so I can't connect them.

Has anyone done this before? Do I need to get a DC2 / EK9 intake manifold to filter pipe? If so will it fit onto my manifold or would it be bigger and then need new manifold / throttle body? :/

Thanks alot,

Nis.

plenty of threads about this on the net

good few on here as well

I have looked at loads of threads about this but none mention what parts you actually need. I'm guessing the ek9 intake pipe is larger diameter than a ek4? Is the intake manifold and throttle body different?

don't get too confused about this. the EK9 and EK4 use the same resonators, airbox, intake pipe and even the same size throttle body. the DC2 intake is indeed larger. either you can use a DC2 throttle body or simply find a way to snugly fit the dc2 intake pipe on the EK4 throttle body.

What i did was get the DC2 intake, take off the rubber pipe and squeeze on your EK4 one, its pretty tight but will fit, and either make a custom bracket up, or what i did was cable tie the crap out of it, to hold it in place!! the filter box will be quite close to your radiator overflow resevoir but it fits in fine:)

What I did is get a 45 degree alu pipe of similar size to the standard rubber pipe, cut the rubber pipe before the bend use my ek4 pipe for the tb end and then do the same but cut bellow the bend on the dc2 pipe and then attach this to the other end of the 45 degree pipe obviously this was cut down to size as well. Kind of a homemade spoon elbow if you will. heat tape on the pipe is a must as the metal will heat up and warm the air. just have a play mate.

I bought an Integra pipe in the end and fitted straight on. Because it was longer the box fitted perfectly, had to make a bracket but it fitted everywhere else including onto the intake pipe :) looks standard fit now too :)

Thanks to everyone for the help :)

The Dc2 airbox and intake hose fits perfect in Ek4 without problems, see my new user photos to comprove.
