Insurance for 17

the guy who owned the car has left the country moved to Dubai he known me and my family for years the car was a gift for me achieving good grades on my gcse's

Lovely gift and well done on getting good grades!

You may be better off selling it and buying a young driver friendly car, the EK9 will cost a lot of money to insure correctly.

i had an a 242bhp eg6 when i was 17 with no problems, insured correctly with all mods declared, i payed for it but they never asked me how mature i was when i was looking for a quote! you will struggle especially if your in the UK im in ROI insurance isnt as expensive!

on your own name or parents?

if you're insuring a ek9 at 17 you're not doing it legally .
im insured on a ej9 1.4 on my own name for 3000 euro , cost the same as the car.
and my car is not a jap import.

No chance

hey, first of all congratulations for getting your license. Now you are officially allowed to hit the roads but safely. You mentioned that you are willing to buy a car insurance, i suggest you to buy it in multi car insurance policy with your parents. As you are a teenager if you go for a independent single insurance it would costs high rather than having multi car insurance. Multi car insurance cover offer you a good cover in lesser rates.
