My situation when i purchased the car last year in June the owner then handed me 3 separate keys, thinking one would be for the door and 2 for the engine. No, one was for starting the car, the other for the doors and the later is cut but has no official use to date. My car is a Civic Jordan x plate i believe, is this a normal thing?

The 2nd Question

Has anyone had another set of keys cut/programmed? Do i go to the main dealership? The price (rough estimate). Want another set of keys as i've only the one and if by misplace these i'll be damned

Thanks in advance for any advice given!

I had a key made by a key cutter that started the engine usually about 30 pounds

Jordan's only came in T an V plates, never seen one on X plate

Normally there should only be one key (bar the red key...) that opens all doors and starts the car. My guess is that one of the door locks got damaged and so the barrels have been replaced for second hand ones but the ignition was kept original as it would require messing around the the immobiliser? The car could have been stolen/recovered or it was just a barrel that broke through use. My old EK3 did not have a remote and the barrel broke after a while....

My dad can cut and program keys. Would be alot cheaper than the stealers. He is located in Hereford if it's any help

That explains the damage on the passenger door! Thats no problem then, i'll just get another set made, and one from honda with the immobiliser, think someones tried to steal mine from the previous owner then

My first Jordan was also an X reg. There was a few late ones registered :nice:

I just went to Honda and got a key cut. I'm sure it was about £35.

Keys for the Jordan are £42.50 I believe (can check the exact price tomorrow at work if you want). That comes cut for your car already. Programming is about £30-£50 depending what dealership you go to.

Assume they have immobiliser then?
Most ek9s don't seem too as standrd
