Information needed regarding sumps for b20

Hello

Well the weather is getting better and im trying to sort out a few things on the car so I can take it round brands hatch a few times this year.

Now im looking at getting baffle plates fitted into my sump, however my sump has some what of a medium sized dent in the bottom, and im not sure whether this will affect the fitment of the baffle plates or not? i would presume so?

So im probably going to need to buy a new sump or second hand if anyone has one available at reasonable price, im pretty sure the sump I need has p72 stamped on it, however I have b20 bottom end and just wanted to clarify whether or not all b series sumps are the same and whether or not the p72 is the one im after ?

Is there anywhere else where i can buy a sump from that's already baffled? or is my only option the diy weld in baffles?

I have a p3f sump, which i have been informed is off a b20. It looks very similar to the p72 however i was not advised to fit it due to oil pick up.

I tell you what these ek9s are insane handling and running with out a baffled sump is suicide surely ?

I dont think you will have an issue until you fit stiffer suspention / slicks ect.

Yeah the cars got everything under sun on it , it would seem, apart from sump and slicks lol and they have been added to the shopping list.

Defo want this sump for piece of mind though

right guys I bought a p3f from daz at dnr, he welded in the baffle plates so I know have a p3f with baffle plates however the sump that's sitting on my b20 right now is the p72 so bit confused ? also dunx advised me to use the p72, however im not entirely sure wether I read somewhere you can use the p72 if you cut a certain piece out or something?

also I guess I require new sump gasket, do I just buy a type r gasket?

Just to confirm this a b20 runs a p3f sump due to oil pickup as mentioned above. Had the baffled sump fitted yesterday and i did change the sump gasket, anyway Now it's time to buy some semi slicks and get some track time.
