hi, im brand new to this so if there a thread i'v missed sorry.

I am currently looking to import a 2000 face lift ek9 from japan, but instead of putting my trust in someone known by a friend, I thought I would try here looking for advice, peoples experiances and who they/would use.

Im obviously looking for the best bang for my buck and thought about using a local importer but what ive heard about some and what they add to the price for doing the work puts me right off.

thanks grant

if its a fresh jap import your after your gonna have to fork out a bit more, cheaper alternative is to buy one here or in ireland they are going quite cheap :nice:

i was under the impression that it would be cheaper or same price gettin a fresh import

from alloa .

had a look at the site looks good, what do know about calder motor company.

never dealt with calder myself but heard of them, if its a fresh one your after type r dunk on here imports them fresh and always has 1 or 2 in stock, aint the cheapest though probz talkin anywhere from 6.5k to over 7k, he has one comming in for 6k just now here is a link to his site

i was thinkin about going down south to find the best deal but would prefer to keep it local.

well my 1st ek9 i got from worcester down south had been in the uk for a year but the guy has taken great care of it i got that for 5700 and was mint and that was early 2008, fresh imports are good cause your the 1st uk owner and that and if its got an auction grade of 4-4.5 then its gonna be a minter but you will have to pay more obviously but you will defo save cash if you buy one thats been here for a bit and can be just as mint if its been looked after.

the money isnt an issue as long as its reasnable. But ma heart is set on a fresh import low miles, great condition and something I can put my own stamp on.

Think Dunk would be your option from down south..Very reliable...got mine of him about 3 years ago...but as gav said the price aint that cheap...got my for around 8k...=S

what should I be looking for when looking at cars. gav-ek9 mentioned auction grade. what else should i look out for.
