Hi guys.
Was out and about today in the ek today and noticed no vtec. The car had been sat I my garage for about 3 weeks previous to this. Upon inspection I thought that I was lacking vtec due to low oil as confirmed by my dipstick being a bit on the low side. I babied it the short distance home and parked it up. One last check under the bonnet showed one ht lead further out of its plug than the other. After a quick re insert it felt seated perfectly again. Now it refuses to start?!?! I'm defo getting g fuel as my garage smells like brandshach pit lane. Fuses visually look ok and I have no cel light (other than normal cel behaviour). Car is in Dewsbury batley if there are any b16b wizards close by?

Does it crank or not? My dizzy died last winter when the car was off the road. If it's cranking over but not firing then the dizzy would be my first suspect.

It's cranking. And at the start of the ordeal I did have it nearly take twice.if It was the dizzy would I have even got it out the garage in the first place? Thanks for the speedy response :)

I had the same situation.. Was out in it... Went home and then it just refused to start up later on. The plugs looked fine and were sparking. Changed the dizzy, didn't help. Changed the plugs and it started.

If the engines turning and your def getting fuel then its got to be ignition related so I would start by testing the spark plugs and work backwards, you should soon find the problem

Yes, my dizzy did work intermittently for a while and then stopped. Also, be careful not to ruin your exhaust like I did when I was trying to start again and again, pumping fuel into the exhaust and then when the dizzy started to work for a brief moment all the unburned fuel just went bang inside the exhaust and damaged the baffles in the backbox...
