Looking to get a 1996-2000 Civic Hatchback to do a Type-R conversion.

If anyone could help me answer some questions it would be greatly appreciated.

1. What is a fair price for a clean '96-2000 Civic Hatch stock in good condition.

2. About what % should I pay extra if the cars are heavily modded with a B16 engine or something.

I see a lot of these cars around the $3k-$5k range. There are some modified with coilovers, engine swaps that are asking $7-$10k. Are those reasonable numbers?

Thanks in advance!

I bought mine for 3.5k, Clean Title 100k on the dash DX EJ6. 1998 Honda Civic Hatchback, But the body has some scratches and Dents but nothing that you cant fix. Its Automatic and its not a Vtec but w/e i think i got a good deal.

I bought my ej9 with a 1.5 vtec engine conversion for 2k which I think was a bargin the body work was and still is abit shabby but I'm an all motor kind of guy lol

I Supose as your in the US buying an ek9 is out of the question lol

I would love to import a Type-R, the money wouldn't be an issue. The problem is I wouldn't be able to get it street legal right?? I live in Texas. Thanks for the info so far!

I dont know how it works out in Texas, but here in california its a very very complicated process to legalize a type r especially considering it does not meet DOT requirements.

I bought a 1998 EK4 VTI-S for £3,300 which is a limited edition of 200. so if you look in the right places you can find a bargain
