Quick question really.

Wanting to run spacers on the front. Are hub centric spacers safe? Like for track use? As I will be doing a good few trackdays this summer and last thing I was is a wheel flying off!

I always thought the hubcentric ones were safe as they attach to the hub assuming they're fitted properly. Only spacers I've heard horror stories from are the universal shims over 10mm. But can't speak from personal experience just other forums/ friends.

Mine are cheap basic spacers, iirc 5mm. Countless laps of brands and a few at the ring and I've not lost a wheel yet.

I only ask as I want either 10 or 15mm spacers so it's either normal spacers and extended studs or hub centric ones.

I think they should be safe enough as they are bolted on. Was just asking incase anyone on here has ran them on track before :)

Yeah I get you.
I've never used a bigger spacer so I'm useless to you now lol

There's your answer.
You going to run 15mm a side with your weds sports Logan?

Great! Thanks :)

Yeah 15mm for weds and the rotas on track as well

Et 38 yours?
Minus the 15mm is like having been ET23.
Mine are Et31 minus say 5mm, ET26.
You should be alright if yours are 7j. Mine is pretty close but doesn't rub on track with a 195/50

Yeah :) plus Iv got the 15mm wider front wings.. So tempted to go for 20mm spacers lol!

Ah yes! So you should have plenty of room. Assuming you put some camber on the front...

How did this effect the handling? Looking at some 20mm spacers for the front of mine

Widening the track improves turn in and the over all feel.. I always run them.. even if I dont need them for clearence or anything...

That's what I had been reading on a few other forums as well :) thanks!

Just to add another + 1 for being perfectly safe.
A mate of mine runs 2 25mm hub centric spacers on top of each other at the front his drift spec RX7! :lol:Simply to give him a wider track like previously mentioned and also to get the wheels to fit his wide body kit! haha! And that car gets driven hard all the time, and they have never failed.:nice:

So I'm sure a single 15mm will be much safer in comparison!

For 10-15mm extended bolts would be best. You would want a good depth of aly for rigidity and thread strength in the case of bolt ons.

I run 20mm spacers on the front of my dc2. Been on track days, a few trips too the ring, daily driven and never had a problem.

I was always under the impression hubcentric spacers were safer too.
looking at the 15mm tegiwa ones atm as my brakes dont clear my wheels.

does anyone know if it would be detrimental to only run wider track up front? :run:

Christ in the drifting world i think I've seen as many as 3 bolt on spacers on top of each other with slip ons in-between and zero issues. well......the wheel bearings hate them but there cheap so it doesn't bother anyone. its only the same as running a mega offset wheel. just make sure you don't run slip ons so large that you have your wheel bolts on by 4 threads. wheels tend to fly off if you do that.
