how fast are your ek9's

I want to run mine at Santa Pod once I get my high comp B18 in, purely out of interest of how quick it will run. I've never been on a drag strip though, only track.

I want to try it too, just to see what it'll run.
Ek9.org drag day?
Follows by ek9.org trackday?
Dare I say ek9.org ring trip?

I'm in :D

Got vague plans of going to the ring this summer anyway. Also got a voucher to use on an MSV circuit that I got for Xmas. Was thinking Oulton Park been as its near me.

Your set for a decent year then!
See what we can organise as drag days are fairly cheap.

Hopefully providing my build goes right and works... Yeah can just go to Pod and run there, as you say it's not much.

Think it's like £35 for unlimited runs? Good chance to meet some members aswell.
Will see whose feeling it.

Yeah that's it, decent day too and a nice venue. I'm up for it for sure! Won't be running the car all day though or I'll burn the clutch out from launching it haha

Yeah last time I went it didn't end well.
I call them "break what you brung"
Instead of "run what you brung"

Love running at Pod. Another good day is at Ten of the best. Even if you don't want to enter the main comp the boot camp on the Saturday is a right laugh. Drag, handling circuit and top speed..mega day out

Break what you brung is a good name. I saw a Saxo (I know... A Saxo...) on the strip that shat itself all over and made the strip close for like 2 hours while they cleaned up the mess lol. Also saw an Impreza go bang on there and drop lots of metal...

10 of the best is meant to be quality, I've been invited by people before but never bothered going.

What did you break?

Good thing about the 1/4 mile, is that it gives a pretty good indication to how much power your car has.

Was in my astra 888
Broke 2 engine mounts, ripped gearbox casing clean open, exhaust fell off and split a water pipe.
All in one run lol

@jesse888 wow nice , what did u do to boost it cause the compressions really high

@adamek9 wow damnit 5.5 seconds from 0-60 mph is damn fast.... but ur running a b18c its got more torque i think this is critical compared to a b16b

i wanted to know how fast theyre on drags 0-60 mph...

and how is the tranny, the s4c tranny? i heard the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gear are short and the 4th and 5th are longer

thanks so far guys ur cool =)

I left it stock block and run low pressure.
I did around 1k miles before I melted a piston, but I honestly don't think the compression killed it.

wow... did u just put another head gasket?

damn... so what do u think was the problem ? :((

I got a few 14.5 second passes in Bishopscourt earier last year. I think around 95 mph.

B16B with J's Racing manifold
J's Racing 60RR exhaust
3inch intake with v. stack
Exedy Clutch and Fidanza fly

Was dyno'd in Westward Engineering at 178.6bhp and 154nm with a J's Racing n1 exhaust fitted

I was on Uniroyal Rainsport tires so I'm sure I could have knocked another little bit off with some good tires..

Nope. Stock Honda headgasket.
I found a piece of the wastegate plumbing had melted shut, I blame this as the car ran like a champ until then.
