how does tax work now?

How long does it take for tax to go through now? I have my driving test soon and I want to know of i can tax it on the day if I pass because I dont want it to sit on my drive taxed till I pass

You can tax it wenever but it will start from the 1st of tge month, meaning if you tax it on the 28th december (for example) it will go thro from the 1st december so you will basically loose a months tax if that makes sense

Oh really that suck but hopefully it will only be a few days. So I can drive it as soon as I tax and obviously insure it

Aye, as soon as you pay it, you can drive it.

With Insurance it's worth setting it up in advance as giving them so many days notice can reduce your policy price by quite a lot sometimes. Play with the voluntary excess to as it can drop your price but it's not as straight forwards as increasing excess. Sometimes a low or £0 excess gives the best price. Just mess around with it.
