ive just bought a set of the hipermax pro's 2day,bought them used from ( jap performance parts ) they look brand new from the pics, these shocks retail at the best part of £2000 and i just payed £600 delivered!! thought that was quite a bargain, just hoping they perform well but knowing hks's reputation i expect they will,i hope!!I used them briefly on my DC2. They are "good" but I've had plenty else that are better. I would rather use the Apex'i N1s.
I'm not sure of those are still available, but back in the day, there were two models, the 99spec and the Pro 2000s (I think that's what they are called).
The Pro 2000s are the hardcore endurance racing super dampers....and NOT the ones I had which were 99spec.
I would opt to get PIC dampers instead. I really dislike dampers that offer more than 8 way adjustment. Because really after 8 ways, it's just an exercise in twisting and turning knobs before a real improvement can be felt in the valving.
Let me know how you get on with them, I was going to buy them before I got my Teins.ive just bought a set of the hipermax pro's 2day,bought them used from ( jap performance parts ) they look brand new from the pics, these shocks retail at the best part of £2000 and i just payed £600 delivered!! thought that was quite a bargain, just hoping they perform well but knowing hks's reputation i expect they will,i hope!!

plenty of damper adjustment and even valve adjustment on the bottom of the shocks though which should help keep my spine in shapeblimey them HKS hypermax pro's on jap performance had a spring rate of 13 on the front and somthing like 11 on the back now thats back breaking sus on normal roads
spoke to jap performance parts and they said that the spring ratings on these particlar coilovers are 8k front and 6k rear, would this be withstandable on uk roads??err no just wait till you have fitted them
no problem mate, ive cancelled the order on these shocks now anyway cos im concerned about them being too firm, think im gunna go with the tein super streets now as i know they are good cos i had a set on my old celica, cheers for the adviceAh when i spoke to them he said it was 13k front and 10k back. Yes 8k front and 6k back will be good no problem sorry for that.
