I just remembered i have a complete b18 bottom end if you were interested, would need collecting from the midlands.
Nice one mate helps a lot I've seen a b16 on ebay the kit with shafts gearbox unsure about ecu quite cheap il post a link up see what u think il be getting engine storing in workshop whilst gatherin all parts across a few monthsIf you have 262mm brakes at the front, just get a rear disc brake conversion. Also get yourself some decent lowering springs/coilovers and a rear anti roll bar, you will not believe the difference the rear anti roll bar makes to an ej9!!
B16a2 conversions aren't too pricey these days and can be done for a decent price. Plenty of info on this around the net.
Main parts are:
Engine loom (obd2a so it matches dash loom)
Engine and gearbox
B16 engine mounts
Driveshafts
Chipped ecu with b16 map
B-series Exhaust manifold
2.5 inch exhaust system
Air intake setup (whales ***** or ek4 airbox are easist to fit into ek's)
I have probably missed a few bits but that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Hopefully this helps as wasn't sure how much you knew about conversion!
Want to get a complete engine to be fair mate but thanksI just remembered i have a complete b18 bottom end if you were interested, would need collecting from the midlands.
No problem palWant to get a complete engine to be fair mate but thanks
You could buy a whole car for that kind of money (mb6 vti aerodeck or hatch) keep what you need and break the rest to claw back some cash.
Really I thought that was a good price is it not, il have a look around then just these engines should have no problems withYou could buy a whole car for that kind of money (mb6 vti aerodeck or hatch) keep what you need and break the rest to claw back some cash.
As they are tested etc and I can give them a offer on the engine just comes complete set up il do disc and suspension upgrades firstReally I thought that was a good price is it not, il have a look around then just these engines should have no problems with
Have a look at rippus build thread for inspiration, He started life as a 1.4 ej9 now he has a b16.
Meister R coilovers
Is the eBay link I posted of engine a fair price or is it over priced mate? Or do u know of anyone selling one ahaIn terms of what to do, I'd start with suspension and brakes before any engine swaps. From the pic it's a prefacelift so if it has standard brakes, it'll be 242's? Tbh you can just do a front upgrade to 262's and leave the drums for now until the shoe's etc need replaced, then go for disks on the back. You'll need a full different hub for the 262 as the bolt spacing for the carrier is different, @Steve M has a set of callipers, carriers and hubs for sale at the moment
In terms of suspension, rebush it and get some good spring/shocks or a good set of coilovers. That makes a huge difference. Also the EK9 steering rack and ARB setup is really good.
For interior, I'd get a good seat and steering wheel, and a shortshifter of some form. They make driving the car much more fun and gets rid of the the standard boat sized steering wheel haha.
Never thought I'd be that guy that has the build that people recommend! Haha
Shall look him up he on here then I take it??Seems reasonable mate but I would want a guaranteed price before going through ebay. You could give craig at unit 6 spares in perth a shout he sells loads of b series conversions and will pallet it up and send it to you as well.
Got it cheers buddyHe's no on here mate look up unit 6 on google or your best bet is facebook, Craig Harley profile pic is a grey s2000
Ok nice one mate shall sort it all out,@B18C'R EK
Usually has parts laying about. Decent fella to deal with aswell.
I'd recommend a minimum of brakes and probably coilovers/suspension of some sort before dropping a bseries in.
Even if your putting stock ek4 brakes in, they're better than your ej ones.
