Hi, from Australia, Perth

hey thanks for the compliments guys!

ok, time for some updates.

I've found out that from the front left accident from previous previos owner I not only realised that the left knuckle was bent but also the front ANTI SWAY bar missing from damage...:angry2: no wonder steering wasn't so sharpe as I thought it would be. :angry2:

So I've ordered this from Japan already with the 1997 EK9 front lip to undo the face lift(i like preface lift better hehe).

I'm also replacing the stock driveshafts to SPOON's drive shaft. I thought it'd be about time to do so as it is 10 years old. So I'm waiting for this part to arrive from Japan in the next week. My car is still sitting at my mechanics waiting for SPOON's driveshaft then the knuckles can go on. I've decided to replace the right side knuckle while I was at the left one. So it should drive very smooth when done..

Mechanic already change the flywheel and installed a EXEDY Heavy duty clutch kit. Flywheel was weighed myself on a digital scale at 5.7kgs opposed to SPOON and TODA"s 4.1kgs, the stock flywheel was significantly more heavy and easily noticable when picked up than my ACT flywheel. I will weigh the stock flywheel when I get it back. I think this mod should be promising... :nice:

I've also found 2 engine mounts worn out or cracked. These are the small front ones at the front left and right. I had these ordered but realised that SPOON had some on their parts list... :( maybe next time when the other mounts go then I'll replace them all with SPOON ones.

I've also received SPOON's Twin block caliper brake kit with rotors and pads. Also received J's Racing carbon intake(GENUINE), once you've laid eyes on this it's like :shocked: :bow: A lot of engineering went into this part, only people who's seen the GENUINE thing would know.
These mods will go on after the inspection and registration. I have to keep it as stock as posible to avoid any failures.

Also stated in another thread was that my car seems to be running very very rich and makes a fair bit of backfiring.:angry: So I've ordered a new oxygen sensor and SARD's Fuel pressure regualtor + gauge to fine tune and get rid of this prob, hopefully I won't need to purchase a custom ECU...expensive...

Other parts installed are;
-SPOON engine and tranny magnetic bolts.
-Vision Muffler bush
-Complete oil and OEM fluids change including LSD, tranny brakes etc.
some more but can't remember...

Also other parts ordered from Japan are below;

-SPOON radiator hoses
-SPOON red wheel nuts
-OEM rear rotor and pads
maybe more... can't remember..

Stay tuned for pics of all parts and installs. Should be good...

Stock wheels for the win, not liking those much sorry

Yup! staying with the stock wheels to keep it original... will be lowering it after inspection and rego. :D

Wow, defenately take as many pictures as you can.
So are you on a budget because alot of these spoon products are expensive, with less expensive alternatives out there..
I do have the same drain plugs though, they are probably the highest quality part on my car.

Edit: I think you should go with the se37's 100%. Those wheels are sick! (plus theres a lot of ek9 wheels running around, not so many volk se37's.)
Maybe this helps.

hahaha, nah I just got sources from japan to get it for me at local prices... Thats why I can afford it... besides it's way more worth it and you get what you pay for. I believe in quality parts.

Yup! I will be taking stacks of pictures for records you know... I've spent so much time and effort on this it's not funny.

Hey thanks for the pics! I wanted to see what they look like on an EK but couldn't source out a pic. I know bronze wheels look pretty racey on a Champ white EK9 but EK9's arnt common and arn't many running around in Australia. Especially I'm the only one in Western Australia to have an EK9, the rest are just EK1s and EK4s. Theres only a 1 handful of EK9's in whole of Australia and more volk se37's... LOL:nice:

hmmm, I wonder what everyone else thinks about it...

But you know that this will take away that genuine EK9 look... :/
