**Help With Cleaning**

ok so heres my situation, i took out all of my carpet in my interior including in my trunk area and i want to clean out all the dirt and grime and i noticed back around my spare wheel well there is like a black tar-ish looking substance in that area, im not sure if its tar or maybe build up or possibly a sound deadening substance... just wondering would would be the best possible way to remove this without scraping up the paint... anyone else have this issue? thanks in advance.

Im in the current situation mate, so hopefully get some helpful tips

a good cutting compound will remove, needs some work though, will be residue left by removing sound deadening by whoever did this

if you decide to remove sound deadening in other areas yourself in future use dry ice, leaves very little residue and easier to clean

Most of the time when sound deadning is removed the paint under it is different. Seen this on a few cars!

A lot of people strip this out using the dry ice and paint the inside once done. Sure someone thats done it will come along and help you further. Good luck with it bud

ok thanks guys for your help will try using a cutting compound first, also thought of maybe some sort of de-greaser cleaning liquid. any thoughts on if that might work? more helpful opinions welcome. thanks in advance
