I recently got my alternator reconditioned on my 98 pre facelift Ek9 as it was only charging at 12.5 volts. When I fitted it back onto the car it was still only charging at 12.5 volts. I brought the car to the guy that reconditioned it and he checked the 4 wires on the green plug that goes onto the alternator. He got voltage on 3 wires but no voltage on the 4th wire. So I'm wondering does anybody have a wiring diagram that shows where these wires go as I need to trace them to see why I have no voltage on that wire? Cheers.

1 is the battery
2 is the engine fusebox
3 is the passenger fuse box
4 is the ignition switch
138 is the electrical load detector
139 is the alternator.

Colours for the wires out the alternator is as follows:

B (Ws) is white and is going into the engine fuse box
C (Ws/Gn) is white/green and is going to the engine control module
FR (Ws/Ro) is white/red and is going to the engine control module
IG (Sw/Ge) is black/yellow and is going to the passenger fuse box
L (Ws/Bl) is white/blue and is going to the instrument module (charge indicator)

Hope this helps :nice:
