HELP PLEASE: info needed on HKS coilovers

does anyone know what these are and if they are any good as im thinking of buying them for the ek but dont know of anyone who has these so any info would be great

They are the hipermax 2 I think, good coilover ..! but they look a bit old and worn from those pictures.

You could check them by winding off the spring preload and push down on the damper , see that it moves freely and returns ok , same through the different settings.

But you just cant trust old stuff , could blow the next day , and they cant be rebuilt outside Japan.

yeah I know I told myself I wouldnt buy second hand coilovers again but remember hearing the hypermax ones are very good and I was told they are quite new but im in two minds depends how much I can get them for really

I have a set on the EK9 im rebuilding I carn't comment on the ride as ive not driven the car with them on yet but the manufacturing quality looks to be spot on.

The Adjustment feels good with a nice with a positive click between settings. also they have a valve on them to adjust the air preassure in each damper (providing you ahve a high preassure pump) and the finish is supurb they have a chrome like fiish like you would find on tools to stop them corroding.

So so far I would rate them however the ride quality will tell the full story.
