Help please! EJ9 - EK4

Please can someone help me comaring these two models!? I thought the EK4 was the one with the black interior like EK9 and the air vents - holes for fog lights but a saw some EK4s without these holes and i thought this was the ej9 :angry2:

See these pictures and tell me what models are these :

You've posted pictures of pre-facelift and facelift cars, fog lights go in different places depending on facelift and pre-facelift. Also, EJ9 has a SOHC engine, D15 or soemthing along those lines? The EK4 has a DOHC B16A2 which is the 6th gen Civic of choice if you can't afford an EK9.

Of the pictures, the top 2 are an EJ, the black car in the middle looks more like an EK4 and the bottom one is an EJ again going on looks. The give away on the two EJ's is that the Rev Counter doesn't go up to 9,000rpm like on a VTi(EK4.) The black Civic in the middle look more like an EK4 though and it's also a facelift so different front end.

Im not sure what you mean but i think your getting confused with Facelift and Pre-Facelift?
also EJ9s are D-series and im pretty sure the EK4 is a b-series ( VTI )

P.s with some of those pics its hard to tell as some have been modded to look like EKs
 
Oh! I think i got it :) But the problem is that in Greece we dont have EKs or EJs with B16a2.. So maybe the black one is an EJ facelift right?
 
im pretty sure there will be vti honda civic's in greece mate. b16a2 engine is a very common engine,your maybe thinkn on ek9 engine b16b

Maybe but i have never seen a civic ej or ek with a VTEC engine (b16a2). You know the most common civics are these that look like the black one in the 3rd picture but with a d15 on them... :/
 
Vesar, there are a LOT more Civic's with B16A2's in than B16B's. EJ's have D series engines in while EK4's only ever came with B16A2's in. Simplest way to tell is to open up the bonnet and if the engine looks like this then it's a B16A2.

And if it looks like this, then it's a B16B which only came in the EK9 Type R.

Ok thanks bro! I know how to compare engines btw :D But what about the 3rd picture? Is it an EJ9 facelift? It has the d15 on it
 
The third picture is a facelift, so if it has a D15 in it then it's a facelift EJ9, must also say it's quite nice looking as well, not many black EJ's around IME.
 
Ej9's are with D14 engines. With D15 are the ek3 ..
By the way venar you haven't seen ek's in Greece with b16a2 engine?:angry2::angry2:

its confusing that picture as it is a facelift EJ9 but with EK4 fan blade wheels on it..

TBH mate if it has a D15 init 5000 euros ( £4250 roughly ) is an awful lot for an ej9....
You can get an EK9 for about that..... if it has a b series swap then maybe but its still lot of money..

What!? No no here in Greece its an awesome price for an ej9 facelift trust me.. BTW where can i get an ek9 for 5.000€? Because i thought they were like 15.000€
 
Here in Greece with the LHD we don't have ek9's etc..
At the moment they are selling 4 good ek's with full type-r swap (2 with b16b and 2 with b18c) and other extras in prices between 9000-12000 euros..

The usual prices in Greece for clean ek's are:
ej9 and ek3 3000-5000 euros. ek4 6000-8000 euro .
Also ep3 typer from 9000 euro... and few itr's that all came from Germany(full of rust 10000-14000).

didn't realise you were 16 mate.
can't even drive till 17 over here so i'd leave the ek9 for a while mate.
not saying you can't handle it i'm sure you could, but its always best to start with something a bit more mild and then when you get the real thing it'll blow you away.

Haha thanks dude! I know.. i might start with an EJ9 and then convert it to ek9 ;)
 
You must wait until 18 to buy a car:naughty:

Also if you bring one from other country it's not worth! For example for a dc2 you will pay 8000 euro only for tax and papers to become the car legal in Greece...
