I've been offered a full set of spax spx shocks and springs for what I think is cheap but I can't find any reviews or anyone that's had experience with these any ideas?

What quality are they compared to budget coilovers as I can get these for the same price as ta coilovers vmax ect ect basically should I buy or not?

no, lowering springs would be better than any of those brands.

Do not buy cheap coilovers whatever you do! Bad handling, terrible ride comfort and wont last very long.

Either buy decent springs or save and get good coilovers :)

If it's an ej9 I don't think it really matters. If it's an ek9 then big no no

it matters regardless of the model. IMO those cheap coilovers shouldnt be sold, they make the car very bouncy and unpredictable. Plus the build quality is crap.

Agreed. :nice:

Totally agree, but there are thousands of unsafe s*!t parts on the market these days that people will always buy because they want a race car for under £1000. It's just painful to see it done to an ek9 or a clean ek4 even.

It is more important for your car to be safe of look good?
That's up to you

I just wanted to know anyone's opinion on the spax psx damper kit? As i can get a brand new set dirt cheap, rather than paying the same price for cheap coil overs

Spax are well known though, even though i have never had them fitted to a civic, aslong as the shocks aren't blown/leaking and the springs are good they will be better than cheapy coilovers.

The questions is WHY are you changing to the Spax suspension.
Is the standard one blown? What are you trying to achieve?

Depending on what you have now, and what you want to achieve.
Putting on the Spax suspension may be a step backward from your goal.

im currently running stadard ek4 shocks with coilover sleeves and springs, one of the rears has blown so yet another excuse to change.

i want to achieve a decent fast road set up but not to stiff as the roads and speed humps where i live are awful, ive found a bit of info the spax set up and i know why it was so cheap the kits actually meant for the crx.

obviously there the exact same fitment apart from the rears which will need washers, will the kit be off as its meant for a crx? will the spring rates be different ect ect shall i just sack it off and get a set up thats meant for the ek?

Don't bother with them, ud be better getting something better even buy a set of decent shocks with the likes of eibach springs would be relatively cheap and would be great on the road/track

Save up and wait for a 2nd hand set of coilovers come up for sale. You'll have a better product for it and resale won't change if you look after them. Good things come to those who wait!

Spax are utter ****. Main seals go in no time and then end up knocking like f**k. Had some on my old ek4. Be WAY better off with oem type R and Eibach springs.
