When ever i start my car from it being ice cold, it bounces the revs from 1-2000 rpm, and sometimes stalls or the lights flash because it so close to stalling and i have to give it gentle throttle till it warms up.

has anyone got any ideas? i cleaned my skunk2 throttle body out and the valve on the back on the inlet idle control valve, i read something about FIV but i don't have one being after 2006.

its a jdm b16 ek, anyone have any ideas?

I've herd that using the wrong heat range plugs can cause your issue.

IACV, they can go bad but try to clean it out first as they are not low cost.
Double check your throttle position sensor as well.

Soon as I read this half way down I thought skunk 2 throttle body, then to read you have lol, skunk2 throttle bodies always do it as it doesn't operate the auto choke. Put the OEM throttle bodie back on until the weather gets warmer.

But to be honest, I have a track car with SK2 TB and they are very touchy TB's.
Even in good temps, they need constant adjusting.
Expansion and contraction of the metals are the issue from what I'm being told by a few tuners.

I will look into these ideas, I had a tiny bit of oil on my spark plugs. DO you think this may be the problem?

thankyou

I thought it was oil, might be coolant. Will have to look tomorrow

would would it mean if it is coolant?

does not sound good, anyone located around milton keynes who wants to look at my car? cash involved obviously

I doubt its a blown head gasket. Does this issue only occur in the cold or all the time? Also is it only in the mornings when you first go to start it? Car been mapped?

My mistake. Mates eg6 had same issue. didn`t start cold, or didn`t start after a short stop. Plugs where wet and we thought it was oil too. after a week in a meet, he leaves the car running on idle with the heater on to keep his girlfriend warm. She calls him because the temperature hit max! next day goes to the mechanic and finds out gasket blown AND rifts in 3 different places in the combustion chamber of the 2 cylinder. In any case coolant or oil in your plugs can`t be good news. run a compression test. it will tell you a lot.

Only happens when cold, for the first minute. Then is fine, the colder the weather outside the worse the issue?

After checking today, there was a bit of coolant on the threads, but not to much. Should i be worried?

Change the head gasket, have the head checked for flatness...timing belt and water pump while your at it...if you have the time and money, I highly recommend a new oil pump as well, but thats me.
