Evening Guys,

Im new to the forum and would just like to say ello

I have been considering getting a new motor for a while now and have finally decided on an EK9. I'd love a DC5 but they are still out of my price range.

I have been driving UK EG6 for about 4 years and have loved every minute of it so it seems to make sense to upgrade to a B16B

I do have a couple of questions tho. After doing some reading, have come to the conclusion that there are 3 flavours of EK9, not including the facelifts.

A Normal EK9
A Type Rx (facelift only)
And the N1 5.7 second beast.

If someone could confirm/deny/clear up the above that would be great.

OK, my next questions. I have a budget of about £5.5-£7k TOPS to try and find a facelift, (Rx if poss) EK9 that will be fully UK Road legal (MOT, tax, conversions, delimited etc). Mileage, around 50k. Is this realistic?

Id like to buy from a dealer / importer to get some warranty if possible too. Is it worth trawling around the importers to find one already in stock or should I get them to source one for me from the land of the rising sun?

If so, can anyone suggest a dealer to go to? Iv seen quite a few on autotrader but they do seem to be quite overpriced. Yellow ones seem to be £8k+ and i'd rather not get ripped off So if anyone knows of any cars/dealers on autotrader that are best avoided, please, tell me now

I would suggest that you read some info on this forum first. There is a lot of good info in General chat and Resource area.

This way you can get an idea of what specs and options an EK9 has.

Then there's the price... For 5500£ you're not getting anyting decent. Facelift EK9's are about 7500£ - 8500£.
Check the For sale part of the forum, there are quite some 9's for sale from forum members.
And there is also a section from importers like Fastjapcars, Tegiwa,... These people know about the 9 and offer good, clean cars.

Oh, and I don't know what you mean with the EK9 N1 model ????
In theory (!!) all 9's do 5.7 0-100 km/h so...
You have the 96-98 pré facelift, 99-00 facelift, and then 2000 Rx (also facelift). And a rare race base edition. (somebody correct me if i'm wrong

Just read the info on this forum, and you will be a lot wiser already

Keep in mind thats not to say you cant a grade 4 RX, why dont you speak to some of the guys on here there really helpfull also look in the for sale area theres always some for sale!

Also why not speak to Type R Dunx on here he imports and can probaly tell you everything you will need to know, and also SB-Performance i beleive he imports them also, i know of a few websites that you could have a look at if you like?

To be honest though like you said,its definatley worth having a look around (although i dont own one,yet) Somtimes the price range is night and day!
