I'm having a problem with my D14A4 not starting. I reconditioned the starter motor in it 2 days ago and it was working fine after that. Turns over and starts perfectly. But 2 days after I went to start the car and nothing happened. It didn't have the power in the battery to turn over. Relay clicks and fuel pump works ok. There's just not enough in the battery to start.
I tried charging the battery overnight as it wasn't driven in a couple of days, but still wouldnt start the next morning.
I Checked that I have:
- A good ground (very low resistance between negative terminal and ground of car)
- Pulled out fuses that were drawing current from the battery from radio and sub woofer.
- I cleaned both terminals of the battery so have a good connection
- Checked that alternator is working (Reading of 14.4 volts between terminals of the battery when the car is running)
I'm running out of ideas, can anybody think of what else it may be? I'm starting the think maybe it's just the battery that can't hold the charge. Hope to get it tested today. But it was working perfectly, it's about 2 years old..
Any help would be appreciated as I have college exams next week and it's a bit far to walk
