headlight trouble

I crashed my 1998 ek4 recently I'm in the process of fixin it at the minute! When tryin to buy brand new headlights I was asked are they electric or manual? The electrics ones being around 4 times the price I can get the manual ones? Can I use the manual ones in my car? What is the difference? All comments appreciated!

your car is probably manual lights anyway. the auto ones can be adjusted from inside the cabin to change beam height. usually the switch is mounted on the arm rest console beside the handbrake. Not too many ek's with auto headlights. If you dont have the switch in the cabin then there is no issue with manual headlights.
