Headlight Query

I took apart my EK9 headlights today to clean them, the last owner must of drove the car about witht he lamp seals missing or even the indicator was missing for a while, either way the black chrome has dirt deposits and the inside of the lens cover was also dirty...

Any how, from taking apart my lens I noticed on both side that the dome thingy that reflects the light back to the reflector was missing on both sides. Now im wondering if this dome thingy was taken off by a previous owner for some sort of HID bulb or something, its possible as there is a slight burn mark at the top of the reflector due to some high temps (hence the cloudy appearance on the top of the reflector)

Can someone check their EK9 for me to see if this dome thingy is on their car.. Shown in bottom picture (sorry, I dont know the correct word for the "dome thingy")

I also have a headlight from a civic coupe, Stanley made every part seems exactly the same except for the chrome housing being mirror, rather than black chrome and there is also the headlight adjuster in the coupe. Im wondering if taking the lamp mirror from one to the other will work and would it be possible to get it realigned properly. Seems like the two have the exact same bends in the reflector, same stanley stamp marks etc.. I also have a depo headlight and it looks completely different.

you're head light appears to have been modified or broken as it should be like the coupe one apart from its not chrome finish. If you are stuck i would think the reflector part of the coupe light should fit the ek9 light.

i think your right elchunk. they def have been tampered with by a previous owner.. gobshites... just wanted to confirm that the dome reflector thingy missing from both lamps isnt something special with just the ek9 headlamps.

My main concern though is getting the alignment spot on again..

Yes boy as far as i know ek9s dont have the reflector dome in the light housings as standard from the factory whereas the uk ek4 ek3 ej9 and the coupes do have this reflector dome in them as standard. What you might have is on your car is a set of uk headlights an some boy has either done a diy ek9 light with them or he has just butchered a set of light housings to fit the bigger size hid setup!!
